Redmi Users start receiving MIUI 11 System Update

Redmi Note 7 Pro users have now started receiving the MIUI 11 update. The new MIUI 11 Global Stable ROM was announced at the Redmi Note 8 Pro event in India, and the Redmi K20 was the first to receive the update. Now, Redmi Note 7 Pro users in India have started to take to the MIUI forums to confirm that they are also receiving the update. While most users can't see a new update in the System Update section, few users are posting screenshots of receiving it.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro users are posting screenshots of receiving the MIUI 11 update on their phones. The changelog in these screenshots provide little detail, but Xiaomi has highlighted all the big features coming with MIUI 11. According to the screenshots, the MIUI 11 update weighs about 746MB and brings along the October security patch as well. Xiaomi hasn't taken to the forums yet to make an official announcement of the rollout or provide download links either. We've reached out to Xiaomi for confirmation of the rollout and will update this space when we hear back.

We recommend checking in About Phone > System Update to see if a new update has arrived on your Redmi Note 7 Pro. If the update has arrived for you, install it under a good Wi-Fi connection, and while the phone is on a charge.

MIUI 11 new features include new minimalistic design, new dynamic sound effects, a new MI File Manager app, Floating Calculator, Steps Tracker, and more. The update brings features such as Dynamic Clock, Kaleidoscope effects, and custom codes that can be placed on the always-on lock screen. There is also a notification light-like experience to the lock screen. Additionally, the update brings a Wallpaper Carousel to let users have a personalised lock screen.

As we mentioned, the Redmi K20 started receiving its MIUI 11 update last week. The rollout is for the first batch of devices, which are the Poco F1, Redmi K20, Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S, and Redmi Note 7 Pro, from October 22 to October 31. We can expect other handsets in the first batch to receive their updates soon.

Delhi Pollution: Delhi Government issues Dos and Don'ts for the citizens

Delhi Air Emergency, Delhi AQI: In a notification issued by the state government's Directorate General of Health Services, an extensive list of Dos and Don'ts asks citizens to use public transport, stay indoors, use masks and consult doctors in case of any instances of breathlessness and cough.

Delhi Pollution: Amid Delhi's Air Emergency, Government Issues Dos And Don'ts

Amid a public health emergency owing to declining air quality levels across the national capital and its surrounding regions, the Delhi government has issued a health advisory for citizens, asking them to avoid staying outdoors for long periods of time and avoiding physical exertion and exercise. In a notification issued by the state government's Directorate General of Health Services, an extensive list of Dos and Don'ts asks citizens to use public transport, stay indoors, use masks and consult doctors in case of any instances of breathlessness and cough.
In the advisory, citizens have been warned air pollution, which has reached "severe" levels in Delhi, may result in morbidity. The advisory has further warned people with prolonged exposure to Delhi's air, such as traffic policemen, roadside vendors and auto-rickshaw drivers, to take "extra precautions".
Below are listed the Dos and Don'ts released by the Delhi Government for citizens, including the elderly, children below five years of age, pregnant women and persons with poor nutritional status:
Do's:
  • Remain indoors, or reschedule outdoors activities
  • Consult the nearest doctor in case of breathlessness, giddiness, cough, chest discomfort or pain, irritation in eyes (red or watery)
  • Persons with airway, lung or heart illnesses should keep their medication readily available
  • If using masks, use certified N95 masks and follow user instructions. Simple paper and cloth masks are not effective.
  • Continue use of clean smokeless fuels gas or electricity for cooking and heating purpose
  • Use public transportation
Don'ts:
  • Don't burn leaves, wood, agriculture products, garbage
  • Don't go to places with heavy traffic and areas near polluting places, construction sites etc.
  • Don't go for morning and late evening walks, run, jog and physical exercise
  • Don't open doors and windows during the morning and late evenings
  • Don't smoke cigarettes, bidis and related tobacco products
  • Avoid driving cars, scooters and other motorised vehicles
Pollution levels across Delhi crossed the 600 marks from yesterday's 407, with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal calling the situation "unbearable" for "no-fault" of its citizens. Around 37 flights were diverted after the national capital was covered with a thick blanket of haze, making it difficult to breathe and creating chaos for the city's already problematic traffic situation.
